Social Change and Industrialism in Three Newfoundland Communities
Description
Three communities from the same geographical area but each with a different economic base are compared: a traditional fishing 'outport,' a community that from its inception was based on mining, and one that had changed from logging to mining. The study shows how social relations within a community can be influenced by economic decisions taken outside the community.
